Stampede

Stampede is the ultimate student-only experience designed to welcome all new Mustangs to the Hilltop. Students beginning classes for the first time in the spring semester will attend a January Stampede and students starting classes for the first time either in the summer or fall semesters will attend Stampede in August.

Is Stampede Required?

All new students are expected to attend Stampede. Orientation is your time to make new friends, learn our amazing traditions, explore campus, and learn how to be a successful student both in and outside of the classroom. Make sure to have your Student ID with you when checking in Stampede events.

Stampede is packed with experiences to help you connect to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ!

Life on the Hilltop will start with events, traditions, and opportunities designed just for you. Get ready to begin your ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ journey! A full schedule of events will be available closer to Stampede.

Note: Move-in occurs on January 15

  • Stampede events occurring on January 16 are for new students only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Family members accompanying their student are welcome to attend orientation activities occurring during move-in day(s). After move-in concludes, Stampede will begin the following morning. Stampede activities are student only.

Students planning to live on campus should follow parking instructions sent from Residence Life and Student Housing. Long-term parking requirements can be found on the Parking and ID Services website.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Orientation occurs virtually (Mustang StartUp) prior to the start of the semester. Families do not need to plan to be on-campus until move-in occurs.

Class Photo

The class photo tradition gathers students in front of Dallas Hall to form their graduation year, creating an aerial snapshot of their class.

The city of Dallas has amazing sights for our students to explore. Previous locations have included the Dallas Farmers Market, AT&T Stadium, Dallas Aquarium, Globe Life Field, Dallas Zoo, and Northpark Mall.
