Alexandra Lahiri was born and raised in Highland Park, Texas, and is a first-generation Greek and Indian American. Growing up, she would travel to Greece and India almost every year, visiting new countries annually. She is grateful to have visited over 50 different countries, which sparked her interest in learning about and experiencing cultures from around the world. Alexandra is deeply interested in international relations, law, and diplomacy. She chose ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ to cultivate her passions for the humanities and the arts and to pursue prestigious academic and career opportunities. In addition to her interest in international studies, she is a melophile and studies classical voice. She is an active member of her home parish, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she serves as youth choir director, church choir and Byzantine chant group member, and Catechetical school music teacher. She also participates in her church’s Young Adult League Greek Dance Group. Her favorite activity is traditional Greek dancing, which she has performed since she was two years old.
Alexandra was drawn to the Maguire ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Student Advisory Board because of her commitment to ethical leadership—striving to do what is right and moral while considering diverse perspectives and outcomes. She is grateful for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s many leadership opportunities and values the board’s dedication to promoting ethics. Her passion project is studying the Kalavryta Massacre, which directly impacted her family. This event continually reminds her of ethics and morality. She is committed to sharing this story, which is not widely known, in hopes that more people will remember such events and learn from the past so that atrocities like these never occur again.
