ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ supports 'It's On Us' to end sexual violence
ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ supports the national βItβs On Usβ campaign to raise awareness of sexual assault.
ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ students, administrators, faculty and staff have created a video in support of the national campaign to raise awareness of sexual assault and violence.
The It’s On Us National Week of Action is Nov. 17-21, with events planned at universities across the country.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Women’s Interest Network is leading , a university-wide event to raise awareness of sexual violence. The event begins at 8 p.m. in ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅'s Hughes-Trigg Student ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.
On Sunday, November 16, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Peer Health Educators hosted an It’s On Us pledge-signing table during the Women’s Basketball game against UTEP. Students, faculty and staff who signed the It’s On Us pledge received an It’s On Us T-shirt.
The White House campaign’s can be signed online at . It asks participants to:
- Recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.
- Identify situations in which sexual assault may occur.
- Intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.
- Create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.
