Feb. 10 discussion focuses on 'Black' American or 'African' American?
DALLAS (ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ)— The theme for ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ’s Black History Month 2014 is “Reflecting On Our Past. Embracing Our Future.” Organized by the Association of Black Students, the month is featuring an educational game night, a discussion on identity, a gospel concert and a gala.

Gospel Music in America: History in Song

Hughes Trigg Student ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ VarsityThe program will provide a history of gospel music in America. The choir will sing songs that are emblematic of the gospel music genre, ranging from slavery to current gospel movements.

The reception will honor the Black Alumni of ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ’s 2014 History Makers and celebrate the accomplishments of African Americans. The program includes Pastor Richie Butler of ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees, jazz music, gospel melodies and an awards presentation. .
