ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dream Week at ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and recalled his speaking at the University in 1966.
This year's observance, January 21-25, included a Unity Walk; a "Day of Service"; and a presentation by Cheryl Brown Henderson, one of the three daughters of the late Rev. Oliver L. Brown, who along with 12 other parents led by the NAACP, filed a lawsuit against the local board of education on behalf of their children in the historic school integration case Oliver L. Brown et. al. vs. the Board of Education of Topeka.
It also included with William M. Tsutsui, dean of Dedman College, speaking on “Chasing the Asian American Dream.”
The various events were sponsored by ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.
Dr. King spoke at ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ on March 17, 1966.
