ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ-backed Visioneering and the Regional Science & Engineering Fair take aim at broadening students' opportunities.
The 2011 Beal Bank Dallas Regional Science & Engineering Fair
Nine hundred middle and high school science-fair winners will gather at the Embarcadero Building at Fair Park in Dallas to exhibit their skills at the 2011 Beal Bank Dallas Regional Science & Engineering Fair.
The regional competition is organized byÌýºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in collaboration with public and private schools in Texas Education Area 10. Overseeing the operation isÌýProfessor Simon Dalley, president of the Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair and a senior lecturer in the Department of Physics at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.
Visioneering 2011
Find out what Dallas-area middle school students dream and devise for our future at Visioneering 2011, presented by the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Lyle School of Engineering and Texas Instruments from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Ìýin ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Moody Coliseum and classrooms throughout campus.
Academia and industry partner to present engineering as a fun, exciting, and challenging career opportunity to students who will need a strong background in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) coursework to major in and succeed in engineering.
Approximately 1,000 students from DFW-area middle schools and their teachers will move from the opening rally to classrooms for team competitions led by mentoring engineers representing Texas Instruments, Fluor, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and The Pettinger Foundation.
