New Mexico authorities have reported a forest fire is burning along Highway 518 about 10 miles south of the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ-in-Taos campus at Fort Burgwin.
New Mexico authorities have reported a forest fire is burning along Highway 518 about 10 miles south of the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ-in-Taos campus at Fort Burgwin.
The campus is currently safe and open. However, students due to arrive at the campus on Friday for the June session are asked to check the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ-in-Taos website at for the latest updates before starting travel to Taos. Updates also will be posted on the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Homepage and the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Parents site at
Authorities are reporting that Highway 518 is closed between Mora, N.M., and the Highway 75/518 junction east of Penasco. Highway 518 between Taos and the campus is open, so students will need to travel to the campus through Taos.
