About Commencement

ºù«ÍÞÊÓÆµ honored new graduates Commencement Weekend, May 14-15, awarding nearly 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees.

Principal speaker for the 95th University-wide Commencement was United States Trade Representative and former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk.

"Go work hard at your career, whatever it may be," Kirk told the graduates. "Raise the best family that you can, with smart, educated kids. Honorary degrees were awarded to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Jorie Graham, University of California-Berkeley physicist Saul Perlmutter and Russian human rights lawyer Karinna Akopovna Moskalenko.
