ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Dedman School of Law Welcomes Texas Business Court to Campus
The First Division of the Texas Business Court will be located at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in the East Campus Tower
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Dedman School of Law welcomes the Texas Business Court, First Division, to the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ campus. The Court is relocating to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s East Campus Tower from its current commercial space. The new location will increase the Texas Business Court’s conference room capacity and will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and features that will enable the Texas Business Court to provide efficient and effective hearings and non-jury trials. This move is part of a collaborative relationship between ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ and the Texas Business Court for the Court’s Division 1B.
“We look forward to having the Texas Business Court on campus and allowing more students to be on the cutting edge of business law in Texas,” said Dean Jason P. Nance, Judge James Noel Dean at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Dedman School of Law. “This move is part of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s effort to advance the law school’s national prominence as a leading institute focused on business governance policy and law.”
Over the last year, the Business Court has used classroom space for substantive hearings and is eager to expand its collaboration with the law school. This relationship provides students with a first-hand look at complex litigation in action.

The Texas Business Court is a statewide, specialized trial court created to resolve certain complex business disputes. The Court is composed of eleven geographical divisions consistent with the existing Administrative Judicial Regions. Five of those divisions are now operational.
